Technical requirements
Throughout this chapter, we will be looking at bringing models and design files into our Tinkercad designs, which can be obtained from various sources. You can browse public Tinkercad designs in the Tinkercad Gallery at www.tinkercad.com/things, which can be copied into your own documents and designs, as discussed later in this chapter.
We can also browse for 3D models in an STL or OBJ file format, which can be brought into our designs from file-sharing websites such as www.thingiverse.com and www.cults3d.com. Many of these sites offer models that are free to download and use for non-commercial purposes, and there are others which offer models that you can buy as well. In this chapter, a model of a trophy will be used as an example, which can be downloaded from www.thingiverse.com/thing:6493928.
