Summary
UX testing is a complex but vital part of feature testing. It is far more subjective than other areas, and clear-cut bugs are interspersed with choices that are tradeoffs or matters of opinion. Respectful discussions, which are important throughout testing, are especially needed here.
Some of those gray areas depend on user expectations. What might a user reasonably expect from your new feature? If that functionality is missing, is that a bug or a feature request? This needs consideration from the product owner, UX designer, and yourself.
In general, when performing UX testing, always look out for anything confusing that you struggle to remember or have to attempt twice. If a function is challenging for you, who uses this product full time, it will be even harder for your customers who only have a few minutes to devote to mastering it.
