T-shirt sizing – sizing the project
A T-shirt sizing or estimation model is defined based on previous experience, general components used for automation, and technologies. Microsoft Excel has proven to be a great tool for designing this kind of estimation model. Let’s define a model for our current client.
The first step in defining an estimation model is to list all the general components and categorize them into buckets. Each component will be given a high-level effort estimate. Keep in mind that this is not an estimate for a complete project but only for the development phase.
The following screenshot shows an example development effort estimation model that can be used for sizing an RPA project:
