I wish to first thank my heavenly Father for giving me the opportunity to serve so many people over my career, which led to this book.

I want to thank the love of my life, Starla, for putting up with my strange love of numbers, as well as all of my shortcomings. Your love is what keeps me going each and every day.

I thank my daughters, Chaney, Grace, and Becca, for never forgetting that every day you laugh and cry is a good day.

I would also like to thank my mother and late father, who gave me unconditional support my entire life, as well as a really great childhood.

To my brother, Jon, and my best friend, Glenn, for forcing me at a young age to invent baseball simulation games. You two are probably more responsible for my love of numbers than just about anyone.

I am thankful for all of my bosses, co-workers, peers, business partners, teachers, classmates, students, friends, and customers, who really provided the experiences that I used throughout the book. I’d especially like to thank my own direct reports over the years for being part of my own experiments, and I am hopeful that they learned as much from me as I did from them.
