Summary

We did a lot in this chapter, and this is one of the most artistic chapters of the book. You learned about color spaces, applied five tools for basic color grading, and learned about three popular stacks (teal and orange, neon, and urban orange). So, now you know the isolated tools and you have physical proof that you can combine them into something amazing.

The world of color grading is an evolving one. We have not covered CMYK and LAB aside from mentioning them, and certainly, every great editor out there has their own secret sauce for achieving their signature look. I encourage you to play with other styles, emulate the ones you like, and find yours. I will tell you, after a few years, you can pick my images out of a lineup given the color grading that is done. Now, it is time to turn the page and talk about the dirty side of editing…the black hat side…the destructive side.
