Using Windows Intune

Windows Intune is a cloud-based technology from Microsoft that enables you to manage Windows, iOS, and Android-based devices. Like Office 365, Windows Intune is a subscription-based service and prices are based on a per-user model.

You can also configure Windows Intune to connect to Configuration Manager. This is known as Unified Device Management (UDM).

When UDM is in use, you are able to protect company data while letting users enroll their mobile devices and giving them access to the company data.

Requirements for Windows Intune

Before you can begin your integration with Configuration Manager, a number of requirements are needed; these are both external to Configuration Manager as well as a connector within Configuration Manager.

You must have a public-verifiable domain name that can be verified in the Windows Intune administration portal. Your user accounts must also have valid UPN entries for the public domain in your organization.
