Pages and Panels to Shape Manga

Now that we’ve gotten Clip Studio Paint installed and have gone over the basics of layers and brushes, in this chapter, we’ll take a closer look at our workspace. There are plenty of settings when preparing a new file that we should look at now that we’ve started creating artwork.

Importantly, we’ll build on what we know about layers by setting up comic panels on new pages. This process is just like setting up a studio table to work on, choosing what paper to use, and knowing the correct tools to use to create panels.

In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:

  • Making and saving workspaces
  • Creating a custom-sized page and saving a preset
  • Adding templates to a new file
  • Making comic panels
  • Creating new files and templates
  • Using template panels and creating and editing them

Let’s dive right in!
