Assessment and requirement analysis
The suitability of application modernization is measured through a mathematical formula applied to some related variables. These variables are often marked as AppMod variables. They can be measured individually. The idea is that they should be measured before application modernization and then either projected or measured afterward. Then, they should be calculated for the selected level of modernization: containerize, Re-Platform, Re-Factor, or externalize. Based on the organization’s target, the variables will hold different values. The goal is to find what has changed for these variables over time, the delta. The delta will then be used in the formula.
