Writing press releases


Gaining the attention of the press for your work activities is a great way to generate awareness of your services and products, as well as improving the perception of your brand. Hiring public relations agency is one way to get your business into the spotlight, can be expensive; with the right know how, you can write your own press releases for submission to selected media outlets and avoid the need to hire costly public relations agencies to do the work for you.

Know your audience

The most important rule of creating a press release is to make sure that it is written from an angle that would make an interesting news story; after all, you are trying to convince the media that people want to hear about your story. The news story needs to appeal to each media channel's audience; hence you might consider how the same story may need to be reworded for different publication and broadcasting channel.
