Deploying with Heroku
Heroku is a cloud application platform that provides an easy and quick way to build and deploy web applications. Heroku manages the servers, deployment, and related operations while developers spend their time on developing applications. Deploying with Heroku is pretty simple with the help of the Heroku toolbelt, which is a bundle of some tools that make deployment with Heroku a cakewalk.
Getting ready
We will proceed with the application from the previous recipe that has S3 support for uploads.
As mentioned earlier, the first step will be to download the Heroku toolbelt, which can be downloaded as per the OS from https://toolbelt.heroku.com/.
Once the toolbelt is installed, a certain set of commands will be available at the terminal; we will see them later in this recipe.
Tip
It is advised that you perform Heroku deployment from a fresh virtualenv
where we have only the required packages for our application installed and nothing else. This will make the deployment process...
