In this chapter, we had an overview related to some of the technologies under the networking layer when it comes to cloud environment. We looked into some of the challenges, specifically related to IPS and implementation approach in cloud environment with some of the great tools available in the market. At the end, we had an overview related to Virtual Private Networks along with the approach of bastion hosts that one can use for private networks.
In the upcoming chapter, we will dive deep into the operating system security and look into various interesting approaches as well as tools that can be used there.
