Roadmap for continuous testing
This section outlines strategies for ensuring that testing is an ongoing process, allowing for early detection of issues and ensuring that quality is built into the product from the start.
Determining an effective roadmap for continuous testing requires careful consideration of the results of the discovery survey, capability maturity assessment, gap assessment, tools assessments, and CSVSM, as explained in previous chapters.
There is no standard roadmap because every organization and application has unique current state and future state priorities for continuous testing.
Figure 10.3 is an example of a roadmap for continuous testing. In this example, the organization’s current state of continuous testing was assessed to be capability level 2 (i.e., continuous integration) and the desired goal for the organization is to transform to level 4 (i.e., continuous deployment).
