Using layout rules

Layout rules in Zoho provide you with a way to hide or show fields based on the value of a field the user has already selected.

Let's illustrate this with an example.

If a user selects the Lead Source option of Referral - Customer, then we would need them to also add the name of the customer that referred them. In our Leads module, we have a Referred By field that will be used to specify exactly which customer (contact) referred your business to them. This layout rule may be created as follows:

  1. From the Home page in CRM, go to setup by clicking on the following icon:

  2. Within the Customization menu, click on Modules and Fields.
  3. Click on Leads and then Standard (layout).
  4. Locate the Lead Source field.
  5. Click on the three dots (more) on the right-hand side:

  6. Click on Create Layout Rule:
