Funding models
In discussing business models, there is an implicit understanding that to be viable, these organizations need to get access to resources:
- Human resources: These include designers, system architects, and developers to create and deploy the required solution
- Physical resources: From offices to physical servers and cloud resources, these are the infrastructure a team will need
- Financial resources: These are required to gain access to the human and physical resources
So how can the required capital be raised to support not only the initial phases of the network but cover the operation and subsequent phases required to evolve? This is an important point: the funding needs to sustain the evolution of the network. There needs to be a way, either through revenue or a constant flow of investment, to keep the initiative afloat, or it will either fail or slowly lose members to another shiny new network.
