Summary
In this chapter, you were introduced to LTE architecture, major LTE network components, their protocol stacks, and interfaces for quickly understanding ns-3 LTE simulations. Mainly, we highlighted various ns-3 LTE network components’ limitations, and non-supporting protocols and features. Hence, it helps you to avoid mistakes while conducting LTE simulations. Later, we discussed how to set up and configure ns-3 LTE network components such as eNBs, UEs, and EPC components with their protocols and necessary algorithms for conducting any LTE simulations. Finally, you were introduced to a basic hands-on activity using ns-3 to easily set up and configure any LTE end-to-end network simulations. As part of evaluating the LTE network simulation, you learned how to attach UEs to eNBs, configuring the maximum UEs per eNB, and increasing UL/DL bandwidth RBS to meet UEs throughput requirements.
After learning the basics of ns-3 LTE network simulations, in the next chapter, you...
