Researching Advanced Wi-Fi Technologies – 802.11n, ac, and ax in ns-3
In Chapter 5, we explored and practiced various ns-3-supported Wi-Fi features for simulating basic wireless networking technologies such as 802.11a, b, and g. In this chapter, we are going to explore and simulate ns-3 supporting advanced wireless networking technologies such as 802.11n, ac, and ax. The ns-3 community is also planning to introduce Wi-Fi 6E in future releases. This chapter mainly discusses how to use the advanced features of 802.11n, ac, and ax in simulations by quickly introducing their high-level details. Hence, we assume you have basic knowledge of the technical details of 802.11n, ac, and ax features before starting this chapter. This chapter starts by introducing various ns-3-supported 802.11n, ac, and ax PHY and MAC features. In the first section of the chapter, we will discuss ns-3 supporting advanced 802.11n, ac, and ax PHY layer features, such as channel bonding, Orthogonal Frequency...
