Tip #1: How to Revert a Posting to a Previous Version

MCMS provides at least two ways to view and compare the historical revisions of a posting. You could view the posting as it appeared on a specific date by selecting the View Revisions by Date option. Or you could choose to view or compare previously published versions from the Revision History dialog.

Unfortunately, an option to revert to a previously published version of the posting does not exist. When authors need to roll back a posting’s contents to an older version, they typically do so by copying and pasting content manually from archived versions of the posting.

In this section, we will fill this gap by automating the task of rolling a page back to a previous version. We will provide authors with a dialog from which to select a previously published version of the posting. The dialog lists all available revisions with a button next to each entry.
