Chapter 6: Advanced Attribute Design
Now that we have discussed both drawing objects (in Chapter 4, Drawing with Pencil, Paintbrush, Pen, and Shape Tools) and editing objects (in Chapter 5, Editing and Transforming Objects), it is now time for us to look at some advanced methods for adding attributes to these objects. We will be looking at several techniques for customizing the look of these objects using variations of the two basic attributes that Adobe Illustrator offers for each vector path: fills and strokes. We will explore the Fill options and greater color control, as well as the Stroke options and a few more advanced time-saving, attribute-adjusting methods.
In this chapter, we will discuss the following topics:
- Fill options and color control
- Multiple fills and strokes through the Appearance panel
- Variable width profiles and vector pack brushes for strokes
- Dynamic tools for greater options
