Summary
In this chapter, first, we broke down the differences between the Blender rendering engines, understanding the role each one plays in achieving photorealism. We then covered three ways to apply lighting to our wood cabin scene. We achieved our objective, which was to make our scene match the wood cabin reference image we’re using. We explored the basics of lighting in Blender by taking a look at the different ways we can add light to a scene, the properties that those different light sources offer, and how we can configure them.
In the next chapter, we will zoom out and expand our environment. We will also learn to create large, natural, and realistic landscapes in Blender.
