One of the next steps after creating a vDS and its dvPorts is to migrate the VMkernel interfaces on the ESXi host to the VDS. Since the VMkernel interfaces are specific to each host, the best method is to use the Migrate networking wizard from the ESXi host.
Migrating VMkernel interfaces from vSS to vDS
Getting ready
Before you migrate the VMkernel interfaces (which may include the management interface), it is essential that the dvPortGroup is configured with at least one uplink that supports the traffic. Also, ensure that VLAN, MTU, teaming, and security settings are replicated from the vSS port group.
