Accessorizing your 3D models

Accessories are the icing on the cake for most designs, adding interest and detail. The same is true for SketchUp designs. Simply adding accessories and artwork to 3D models can make a project feel complete.

The kitchen on the left without accessories in Figure 10.20 feels unloved, while the kitchen on the right with accessories pops with personality. The accessories elevate the design and enable you to better imagine what the space would feel like in real life.

Tips for adding accessories in SketchUp

Here are some tips and best practices for adding accessories to SketchUp projects:

Use 3D Warehouse to download accessories. There are hundreds of files available to download and use for styling. When searching for accessories on 3D Warehouse, we recommend typing a descriptive word in front of the word accessories. For example, type bathroom accessories...
