In this chapter, we have laid the foundations of the structure of the book and introduced the core concepts that we will address in the remaining chapters. This will have helped you to understand the benefits of implementing an industry-standard framework such as TOGAF® but without forgetting that nothing comes without problems and that things can go wrong as well. You should have realized the importance of bringing the agile mindset to the EA world without losing the big picture. We have also chosen ArchiMate® as the modeling language and Sparx Enterprise Architect as the modeling tool that we will use to build an EA repository.
In the next chapter, we will introduce three fictional scenarios to get hands-on with realistic problems that you as an enterprise architect will face or may have already faced.
