What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

Not a good study guide. First, it is completely out of date. Second, the author does not do a good job explaining how to set up the practice environment in order to follow the book's lessons along. Waste of money.

This comprehensive book on Microsoft 365 security covers all the subject areas of the MS-500 exam. Each topic area is described, concepts and details provided, using step by step guides with screenshots. End of chapter quizzes and the mock exam were both extremely useful in reinforcing knowledge and preparing for the real exam.Microsoft made a number of changes to Microsoft 365 security during 2020, and the MS-500 exam was updated in January 2021 to reflect new product names, e.g. Microsoft Defender instead of ATP, and greater use of the new separate security and compliance centres. As the book was published before some of these changes, the older names are used, and it's important to be aware of this when preparing for the exam.For me, this book was an important study aid, which definitely helped me to pass the MS-500 exam!

I'll be the first to admit I'm sceptical of exam guides, having previously used Microsoft's official exam refs with mixed results. Some great, some not so great. I work with Microsoft 365 daily, but, as anyone can vouch for, the platform is so massive and ever-changing it's hard to know it all. This exam guide helped with a lot of holes in my knowledge (particularly Azure ATP and retention policies) and got me through the exam first time. It was easy to read and even after passing will be a useful reference point.For full transparency: I know the author, but paid for my copy, and am glad I did.
