Summary

In this chapter, we explored files and filesystems in Linux. Filesystems are a powerful and versatile approach to organize access to information in a hierarchical fashion. In Linux, filesystems are the focus of numerous technologies and ongoing efforts. Some are open source, but there is also a spectrum of commercial options.
