Hybrid configurations
Since SharePoint 2013, we have seen how we can interface our on-premises SharePoint farms with the Microsoft 365 platform. There is no reason not to have a mixture of both cloud and on-premises functionality nowadays. To be quite honest, my recommendation is to stay in this configuration. This gives you control over your data and any content that you may not want to have hosted on systems in the cloud. These configurations also give you bridges to move to the cloud as fast as you like instead of all at once. Also, allowing you to use tools and services in the cloud can be very useful in helping you further collaborate and bring about a broader range of reports, data gathering, and automation.
