A career as a cybersecurity product manager can open up a wide range of opportunities. The mix of strategic thinking, technical capabilities, business acumen, and leadership skills that product managers use daily makes the possibilities endless. On a more traditional path, a product manager could continue to climb the ladder to become a Director of Product Management, leading a team of product managers and overseeing a specific product or service portfolio, or even a Chief Product Officer, the executive responsible for setting and executing the overall strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and goals.

If opportunities outside the world of product management are of interest, a Chief Information Security Officer role (see Chapter 14) would not be too farfetched for a more seasoned cybersecurity product manager.
