Self-Sovereign Identity
Self-sovereign identity (SSI) is a revolutionary approach to digital identity management that gives individuals complete control over their personal data and how it is shared in the digital world. SSI is based on decentralized and cryptographic principles, utilizing blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) to let users establish, maintain, and confirm their digital identities without depending on central authorities or identity providers. Verifiable credentials, cryptographic keys, and secure data storage are used by SSI systems to guarantee that individuals may establish their identities while maintaining privacy and security. This identity management paradigm change offers a more secure, user-centric, and interoperable solution for the digital age, in which people retain the keys to their own digital identities, and trust is built through cryptographic verification rather than by centralized intermediaries.
