Configuring Cluster Sets

For some business-critical needs where a higher level of availability and scalability is needed for clustered workloads, you can configure Cluster Sets. The idea surrounding Cluster Sets is that you implement a cluster of clustered resources or workloads, ultimately combining hyper-converged clusters into a consistent resource fabric across the environment. Many of the benefits of Cluster Sets include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Overall increased resiliency in the event of multiple node failures
• Live migration of virtual machines between clusters
• Ability to seamlessly change the hardware and compute life cycle when adding or retiring clusters over time
• No requirement for identical compute and storage between available cluster nodes
• A unified storage Namespace is provided across all individual clusters, thus providing enhanced flexibility to the VM architecture and its design
