The internet now has a global audience, and we need to design our applications to reach our global audience and deliver the content in the fastest way possible with the least disruption possible. We also want to deliver custom content to users in different geographical areas, based on the language, compliance with regulations and laws, and other principles that determine how we present our content to our users. Routing of DNS requests with routing policies allows us to control the traffic flow and delivery of our content to our users. We have several different options available when creating records, and, for each record, we can choose the following:
- Simple routing
- Latency-based routing
- Weighted routing
- Fail-over routing
- Geolocation routing
- Multi-value response
