Webflow CMS – the basics
With the free plan of Webflow, you can create a Webflow CMS project. However, it will be restricted to two pages. This will be sufficient for our needs.
In Webflow CMS, all content objects are called items, which, in turn, are grouped into Collections. A Collection is Webflow's way of grouping content that is alike in some way. So, if, for example, you were creating a list of meals for a cookbook, each recipe could form a single item in the cookbook and altogether, they could be grouped in a Collection called Recipes.
An item in the Collection is then further broken down into individual units of data called fields. These fields are the bottom-most level of data you can have in the CMS and can take on multiple types, from plaintext to number values and even color codes.
