Conclusion
I have perhaps narrated more stories in the healthcare chapter because I can relate to many healthcare scenarios personally. The field has several pain points across different parts of the world. The developed world is focused on adding efficiencies to existing processes like patient identification, record keeping, data sharing and privacy. The emerging economies on the other hand have more fundamental issues to resolve.
Emerging economies have a last mile problem in delivering basic healthcare to its population. Being able to provide timely, effective healthcare at scale is perhaps the biggest issue facing mankind today. In regions like Africa, Asia, and Latin America, there are millions of people who do not have access to basic healthcare.
