Modeling business services
OEM Grid Control 11gR1 provides service targets with multiple options to model business services. As discussed earlier, these options include modeling services based on active monitoring, passive monitoring, or a hybrid model. The selection of one of these options is the first step towards creation of an effective model. This selection drives the subsequent modeling steps such as the specific service type to be used. The next steps in business service management are definition of the key performance indicators and configuration of the service level tolerance. This model can be made even more effective by identifying the relationships between different business services and modeling composite applications as aggregate services.
