Learning about snippets

Now we have identified that we want to use the Jot snippet. What next?

• Try out the snippet with the minimal configuration

• Check the list of available parameters

• Use placeholders if it involves HTML that can be processed from a chunk

An explanation for each of the preceding points follows. Note that this section is not specifically about Jot, but rather about learning how to use a new snippet.

Jot with the minimal configuration

Whenever you want to learn how to use a snippet, it is a good idea to try it out with the minimal configuration needed. This way, you can be sure that your understanding of what the snippet does is correct. Reading through the page that we have just found (in the wiki documentation), it doesn't seem like there are any required parameters, and all parameters seem optional. So let us just go and place the Jot call below the posts in the blog template.
