Using Insights
In this section, we will take a look at how to use Azure Monitor to spot issues and view the current state of an AVD environment.
Important note
Log Analytics is essentially the data used when visualizing ingested AVD data. AVD Insights is a templated dashboard that uses the configured log analytics and counters to provide IT administrators with information about the organization’s AVD environment.
Differences between AVD Insights and host pool insights
There are two types of insights at the time of writing this book: one is an item in the menu of AVD, and the other is a separate menu item at a specific host pool.
The AVD insights can show data for multiple host pools but are currently missing the host performance and host diagnostic view. This will probably be fixed and is a result of the deprecation of Azure Monitoring Agent.
