Summary

In this chapter, you learned a lot about how you can be more collaborative and social in Mahara by using the groups and friends features. Specifically, you looked at creating groups, group types, forums and discussions, group pages, group files, and making friends.

We also discussed how you might use Mahara to encourage collaboration and social interaction in your organization through sharing. We saw discussion represented by the four fictional case study characters. Hopefully, now you have a good idea of how you can use the social facilities of Mahara to get people connecting and sharing ideas.

In the next chapter, you will be looking at some more advanced roles in Mahara including institutional administrators, staff members and group tutors, as well as the controlled membership group type.
