Resources
Resources are critical when it comes to planning and executing the transportation requirements in SAP TMS, as it helps us ship goods from one location to another in the most optimal way. The resource master helps determine the operating hours and the capacity that the resource can handle during transportation planning. The operating hours of the location, its handling resources, and the vehicle's capacity are all considered in the resource master, and this information is very critical to planning and scheduling for transportation.
The following resources are used in transportation planning:
- Vehicle resources: You create a vehicle resource for the required means of transport in the vehicle resource master. You assign the resource class to the vehicle resource; that is, to say that the vehicle is a truck, railcar, trailer, airplane, and so on.
