Further considerations for reporting

Depending on your organization type, reports can have quite different limitations. For example, regarding the number of custom report types, in the Developer Edition, you can build up to 400 custom items, while in an Unlimited Edition org, the limit jumps to 2,000.

There are also some structural limits, such as the following (as of the Summer '20 release):

• The report builder displays up to 20 preview records for summary and matrix reports and up to 50 for tabular reports.

• Reports display up to 2,000 records and we export a report using the Export button.

• Reports execution timeouts after 10 minutes by default.

• A joined report can have up to 5 blocks, with 100 columns each.

• A report type can have up to 1,000 fields and up to 60 objects.

• A report can include up to 5 bucket fields and each bucket can have up to 20 buckets, where each bucket can contain up to 20 values.
