Windows Performance Counters

Windows provides a feature called Performance Counters, which are used to provide information on how well the operating system, service, application, or driver is performing. Normally, you use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to get individual metrics values and use more advanced applications such as Perfmon for visualizing the performance data locally.
