How to identify IA issues
When designing a website architecture, the information architecture principles should help users to understand where they are and where the information they are looking for is in relation to their position. Information architecture will help to create hierarchies, categorizations, taxonomies, navigation, and metadata. Whenever a menu, content, or a website's structure is organized, information architecture is being practised.
The following are some of the issues that we should consider each time we design a website:
- How are the users flowing on our website or app?
- How does the system help the user to categorize its information?
- How is this information presented back to the user?
- Does this information help the user make relevant decisions?
- Do the labels make sense to the users?
