Summary


Not everyone will be in front of their computer all of the time and able to access Dynamics AX, but chances are they will have their tablet or smartphone within arm's reach almost all of the time, which makes them a great extension point for the Dynamics AX system.

Some other ways that you can use Outlook and Lync include:

  • Adding contact images to Outlook contacts: The Outlook Social Connector will do this for you, but you may need to do this for some of the more camera-shy contacts. This gives you a personal reminder of who you are communicating with, and will be shared with your smartphone as well.

  • Creating Lync meetings directly from Outlook: Even if the other people you are contacting do not use Lync, the web client includes voice, video, and desktop sharing.
