Working with social learning

In addition to the course discussion boards discussed in the previous section, Captivate Prime also contains a full-fledged social learning engine. When activated, it provides an experience that bears many similarities with the most popular social networks:

  • Learners can follow each other so that they get notifications when someone they follow publishes something.
  • Social learning posts are published on boards. The concept of board in Captivate Prime is very similar to the concept of wall or story used by most mainstream social networks.
  • Users can upvote (like) or downvote (dislike) any content posted on the social learning boards of Captivate Prime.
  • In addition to text-based posts, users can also publish multimedia content (such as audio files, videos, and images), files of different types, and URLs.
