Using smart guides with frames
In this recipe, we will look at using smart guides with your frames, and how they can be a useful tool for quickly and consistently aligning items both to other items and the page, as well as ensuring consistent sizing of objects.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1. You will also need to know how to create new frames on your pages, as shown in the Creating rectangle or elliptical frames recipe found earlier in this chapter.
How to do it…
In order to use smart guides with your frames, follow these steps:
- To turn smart guides on, go to the View menu, and under Grids and Guides, you will find the Smart Guides options. Check the box to enable them.
