Documentation enables a CISO to implement the many security initiatives they develop to keep their organization safe from threats. Firstly, documentation is a regulatory requirement, and organizations are required to keep documentation of their systems and the security aspects of these systems for ease of evaluation and maintenance. Secondly, it enables governance of various aspects of an organization as well as management of HR by providing guidelines on the various security policies and initiatives in place.
