Choosing the right leadership

Unlike roles such as Scrum Master and Product Owner, architects are better placed to shepherd a team of intellectual talents to achieve craftsmanship by setting high standards and growing the team toward achieving those goals. In this context, architects play a critical leadership role by assuming the following responsibilities:

  • Develop high-performing individuals through a continuous, reflective learning culture.
  • Collaborate, inspire, and influence individuals to build and align solutions.
  • Focus on continuously improving systems and concerned processes (Kaizen).
  • Lead prioritization to balance sustainability with lead time.
  • Facilitate collective architecture decisions and resolve conflicts.
  • Minimize technical constraints and help to remove technical impediments.
