Sponsoring student projects
Each year, students will have to create a number of group activities, and for many courses, a final year project is required. Typically, students decide in year three or the beginning of year four, of a four-year degree program, what their final year project will be. For a company, you have an opportunity here to create an early liaison and potentially spot a future employee.
The steps involved in pursuing this kind of action are as follows:
Approach your local university and third-level institutions.
Find out the requirements of projects as part of the course curriculum.
Connect with lecturers.
Find out if projects from a local organization would be welcomed.
Find out the project requirements.
In my experience, most of the time this will be highly encouraged, as long as it can somehow fit or link in with the course material.
