Kali Linux is an excellent resource for pen testers to use, but they can also utilize pen testing hardware like the Pineapple. This device is designed for wireless penetration tests. The Pineapple is produced by Hak5 and is a proprietary piece of hardware. According to Cybrary.it, "Basically the Pineapple is a Wi-Fi honeypot that allows users to carry out Man in the Middle attacks." The Pineapple can mimic any wireless access point or hotspot. The latest version of the Pineapple is called the Tetra. This version of the Pineapple uses a stable dual-band (2.4/5 GHz) penetration testing base station with excellent performance. The Pineapple is considered one of the best wireless pen testing devices available. Next, we will demonstrate two labs using the Pineapple. The labs will create a better understanding of how the Pineapple functions.
