Part 3: Print Preparation – Positioning Parts, Generating Supports, and Toolpaths

In this part, we will introduce the various part positioning and arranging options within a given Fusion 360 additive setup. We will highlight the various additive manufacturing technologies and the requirements around part arrangement and orientation. Then, we will introduce how to select a print setting for the additive manufacturing technology we will use in our setup. We will learn how to customize print settings and how to apply print settings to individual sections of our models. In the subsequent chapters, we will learn how to create support structures for additive technologies, such as fused filament fabrication and stereolithography. We will end this part by introducing how to slice our models and simulating the additive tool path, layer by layer.
