Monitoring Apache HTTP logs and metrics using the Apache integration
In the previous recipe, we covered setting up and deploying Elastic Agent on a host, managed via Fleet. This recipe will present a practical example of using Elastic Agent’s out-of-the-box integrations for monitoring a widely-used service such as Apache. Integrations play a key role in data ingestion strategies, particularly for timestamped events. They offer an easy and standardized way to gather data from a broad spectrum of applications and services. These integrations are housed in the Elastic Package Registry and can be accessed through Kibana.

It’s worth mentioning that Kibana requires access to the public Elastic Package Registry for integration discovery in the Integrations app. For environments where network access is restricted, you can still deploy your own self-hosted Elastic Package Registry.
