Optimizing replication

In the previous recipe, we talked about the basic workflow of Redis replication and learned how to set up a master-slave replication in Redis. While setting up replication is quite simple, there are many critical configuration parameters for Redis replication which deserve your special attention. Moreover, some default values of these parameters may even cause performance issues under certain circumstances. In the following two recipes of this chapter, we are going to discuss these configurations for the optimization and troubleshooting of Redis replication.

In this recipe, we will delve into a key parameter called repl-backlog-size to see how to tweak it in order to achieve a better performance for Redis replication by taking advantage of the partial resynchronization. In addition, some other parameters that may have an impact on the replication performance are also discussed.
