Creating a broken wall

In this recipe, we will examine the newly introduced Intersection tool, now available in the latest version of Roblox Studio. Unlike what happens when you union a negated part, where it cuts the shape out of the other block, the intersect tool instead takes the multiple overlapping parts and produces the shape of the inside volume, where all the parts overlap. We will use the Intersection tool to create the shape of a hole, which we will then attach to a brick wall, making it appear old or damaged.

How to do it…

After building a wall, we will add a top cap as well as side pillars to help define the wall. We will then create the shape of the hole on the front face of the wall and union the parts of the hole together. We will then duplicate both the wall and hole part, so we can use the intersect tool to create a solid hole piece.
